Like many people, I have struggled with my health in ways that have felt both frustrating and overwhelming. Since I was young, I have battled with IBS, painful periods, acne, and irregular cycles— issues that many don’t openly discuss, but that deeply impacted my day-to-day life. I tried everything—different diets, countless remedies, and advice from well-meaning friends and family—but nothing seemed to make a real difference.

In July 2018, my issues reached an all-time high as I travelled South-East Asia with some friends. I had stopped taking my oral contraceptive pill a few months prior and hadn’t had a period since. At the same time, my IBS issues flared, and I broke out in painful, angry spots. At a time when I should have been young, confident and social, I instead felt self-conscious, uncomfortable and depressed. I felt completely out of control. For the first time,  I realised that something was seriously wrong. This experience sparked a deep desire in me to understand what was happening with my body and how I could heal—not just temporarily, but in a sustainable, lasting way.

After months of research, trying every supplement, extreme diet and ‘natural’ treatment under the sun, I realised that much of the advice I found online was contradictory, and the “solutions” were often ineffective. Young and self-conscious, I went back on the pill, and although my symptoms subsided, I knew that the issues remained.

I spent the next three years reading endless books on nutrition, female health and holistic medicine and learned how deeply interconnected our bodies are. I realised then that my body was trying to tell me something, and I had ignored it for too long. In 2021, I decided to take the leap and become a Nutritional Therapist. I came off the pill again and decided this time I would stay off it. Although the journey was bumpy, I finally got my natural period back.

During this time, I learned that healing is not linear and it’s not about perfection. It’s about listening to your body, making small, mindful changes, and finding balance.

As a Nutritional Therapist, my focus is on uncovering the root cause of your health challenges, and guiding you towards sustainable healing through mindful, nourishing choices.

Mindful Nutrition - Niamh Hamilton Jones - Nutritional Therapist offering Nutritional Therapy services

In 2024, I qualified as a Nutritional Therapist from the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) after completing 3 years of intense class-based study and 200 hours of clinical supervised practice. I’m now here to help you avoid the same pitfalls I went through and guide you on your own journey to feeling better—physically, emotionally, and mentally.

I want to offer real solutions, not quick fixes. I believe that healing doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice joy or the foods you love. My goal is to empower you to take control of your health by understanding your body and making mindful choices that nourish you in the long run.

My Ethos

As a Nutritional Therapist, my ethos has been shaped by my own health struggles. Like many people, I’ve followed misguided nutritional advice only to be left feeling frustrated and disheartened. I’ve experienced the limitations of restrictive diets first-hand and understand how overwhelming and unsustainable they can be.

That’s why I’m passionate about making small, mindful changes that have a big impact over time. Instead of extreme or temporary fixes, I focus on helping my clients build lasting, realistic habits that fit into their lives. Life is for living, and food is something to be enjoyed—not something to fear or restrict. I believe in striking a balance that nourishes the body, mind, and soul.

I want to work with you to find a sustainable approach to your health that works with your lifestyle, not against it. Whether that means having a chocolate bar with your cup of tea in the evening or enjoying a takeaway on the weekend, I believe that everything should be enjoyed in moderationbecause happiness and enjoyment are important parts of well-being.

Rather than making you feel guilty or restricted, my goal is to help you develop a healthy, mindful relationship with food that supports your overall health and helps you feel your best. Together, we can create a plan that’s flexible, realistic, and focused on long-term, positive change.
